Did i wake up on an alternate earth where people forget why consoles are so popular? You buy one console and play games the entire gen. You dont ever need to think about anything tech wise when it comes to it. it just works. 60, 30fps its whatever. u buy a game u play that game

i prefer PC gaming but i understand consoles. I have lots people i know that couldnt be bother with using a PC for anything other than work and porn. A console is where they game. Its all good.

If u have a good gaming PC u dont need a steam machine. If you have a controller, mouse and keyboard u dont need a steam controller. Valve releases these products with one mission. to get steam on every system they can. They couldnt careless what type of PC u use.

I should just buy every game i have on PS5, on my PC and sell 95% of my PS5 collection.

I still think any GPU stronger than the 5070 is a complete waste of money. Nvidia grossly overcharges for hardware.

Good news. You can upgrade the ram on the new steam machine. Going from 16 to 32 or even 64gb will make a massive difference. Also you can swap the storage to 2tb yourself if u want.

If u want a powerful mini itx PC for the living room u can already build one right now. You dont need to wait. Spend as much as you want and put steam on it.

If i need to buy certain games on my playstation. I am ok with this. i purchased a PS5 to get games for it. Not everything needs to go to my PC. Console gamers are so fucking weird they act as if u can only game on one platform.

Valves smart. they know FSR upscaling and frame gen will carry the steam machine on 4k TVs. No way would they say that thing could do 4K 60fps without FSR+FG. So basically games will run at 1080p 30fps and use FSR to look ok on a 4k display and double the fps to 60 with FG.

Valve needs to invest in a app section on the steam machine. i know u can go into desktop and link programs like discord, spotify and netflix to the client. However for people looking for a seamless console like experience. They need the apps they are used to using on console.

If you can afford a high end PC obviously the steam machine isnt for you. Just build a banger itx system for the living room. You could put something like the 5070 ti in it and that would wreck anything the steam machine can do.

You don't need a steam machine. If you don't own a gaming PC already i do no recommend buying a linux box. Just a FYI out of my over 5 thousand PC games almost half of them dont work on linux without serious trouble shooting. WHy would u make that your first PC?
