The two ridings with recounts conducted by judges named by Harper were won by LIBs. The two ridings with recounts conducted by judges named by Liberal PMs were won by CONs. So much for right-wing conspiracy theorists complaining about "Liberal judges." x.com/CdnElectWatch/…

I think there are very serious problems with how the CPP fund is managed, but unfortunately, this kind of completely made-up claim gets far more attention and debate.

Nah, the only reason CPP Investments is claiming out-performance against their benchmark over a 10-year period is that they changed the benchmark this year, then applied it retroactively, which flipped their 10-year performance from negative to positive.

This number struck me as way off from all the other data I've seen - turns out the author is including permit extensions as "new immigrants"

As a reminder, the TFW program isn't even the major source of temporary work permits after it was split into the TFWP and IMP in 2014. Temporary work permits issued in 2024: TWF Program - 191.6k International Mobility Program: 717.4k

Notice that in the US, when sales slow down and it's obvious that nobody can afford to buy at current prices, they already understand the market is crashing. In Canada, we've had three years of plummeting sales and falling prices, and people still don't want to admit it lol
