Leicestershire on a golden run of birds the past few months. This Dusky Warbler was a fantastic find by Mark Andrews at Aylestone Meadows, just outside Leicester City today. Some surprisingly good views, madly vocal too, never stopped calling. Really enjoyable bird
Long-tailed Duck is always a nice treat to see in Notts, given that I don’t get the chance to go to the coast all that much. This juvenile drake at Kilvington Lakes yesterday was feeding surprisingly close to the shore. Notts Birdwatchers
The Long-tailed Duck at Kilvington, Notts on Sunday. It’s probably feeling a bit more at home with this chillier weather today. Notts Birdwatchers
Absurdly good views of Crossbills yesterday morning, still plenty of them in Sherwood Forest. Notts Birdwatchers
