The link between #booksharing and violence prevention may not be obvious, but book-sharing promotes nurturing, sensitive relationships between parent and child, and helps children develop important socio-emotional skills. #16DaysofActivism2019

Dec 16 is the Day of Reconciliation in South Africa. Our challenge to all #booksharing caregivers is to focus on the relationships in the books you are sharing today. A great book that encourages these kinds of conversation is All's Well that Ends Well.

The ECD sector rejects the R1.3bn allocation for compliance monitors - spending money to create 36 000 new jobs, when 175 000 sustainable long terms jobs are at risk is irrational and disappointing. The real solution is to support ECD Continuity Grants for the existing workforce!
