The covering text for my piece (the PDF you can download) at dignityincare.org.uk/Discuss-and-de… about the significance of the 'diagnostic test' of the Mental Capacity Act. I think s2(1) should not be necessary, if we are applying s 3(1) properly. #MCA Prof. Mark Taubert @luc

Part of an EAPC blog I've just read. Back ca 2010, when I became interested in EOL, the DH EoL Lead told me that EoL care for cancer was much better than for heart disease, etc. Why (see screengrab) is that still the case? Prof. Mark Taubert Prof Katherine Sleeman Kathryn Mannix

I made an 'in passing' remark to a contact in an e-mail, who asked if I'd posted it on X. My contact thinks quite a few people probably share my position. Prof Katherine Sleeman Kathryn Mannix Prof. Mark Taubert Chris Ecklebe

I would be interested in any views from doctors, about the surgery example in the screengrab (from my PDF at dignityincare.org.uk/Discuss-and-de… ). Would the consent from that patient, be valid? Shinichi HISAMATSU

These days I see more TV dramas when CPR doesn't restore life, but if it does the patient is 'back to normal' - I don't see the 'alive but permanently comatose' outcome [for example]. Prof. Mark Taubert Is this a problem - does it mislead the public re CPR?
