There is a US version (of the UK's Online Safety Act) called The Kids Online Safety Act. The legislation is similarly using the pretext of "enhancing online safety for children.'' The Bill has already been introduced. The EU and other countries will follow in the near future.

A 'new battleground' between left and right, has long been in the works. It could be Your Party (or Labour) vs. Reform UK. With the ways things are it really wouldn't take much for these 'new' parties to gain control. But both are still very much establishment-controlled.
