Excellent range of PhD projects being presented here at the 3 minute thesis part of the EU-CONEXUS PhD Summer School here South East Technological University. From biology, cattle breeds, aquaculture, engineering, water quality, religious studies and lifelong learning.

SETU is delighted to host the third EU-CONEXUS PhD Summer School this week, focusing on the topics of leadership and professional development. 29 PhD students across many academic disciplines from the 9 EU-CONEXUS #EuropeanUniversity Alliance are learning together all week.

This morning the PhD students attending our EU-CONEXUS PhD Summer School here South East Technological University are presenting their abstracts for interdisciplinary research plans. Excellent multidisciplinarity, teamwork and collaboration displayed and invaluable learning opportunities

And now this afternoon for some sports, culture and fun, a classroom introduction to our EU-CONEXUS partners on hurling by Aaron Beresford SETU GAA Waterford. We will follow this up with a practicals hurling skills demonstration and all participants will practice hurling!

Reflecting on a great week, we South East Technological University had a great time hosting the 28 PhD students and 20 staff from 10 universities from our EU-CONEXUS alliance. Great learning and fun had by all and already the PhD students are planning how they can meet again. Safe trip home to all!

Excellent opportunity here for our South East Technological University staff to develop small scale teaching and research initiatives with at least one of our EU-CONEXUS partners. We'll worth considering this for an application. Deadlines in October so time to plan and develop this
