Good morning beautif-Hull, lovely post war shot from the 1950s showing Queen Victoria Square when the road went around it. Lovely Hull Corporation trolley bus at the front.

Mike Covell I like this one, before the fountain or City hall were built. I guess they must have demolished the main building in this picture to make room for Queen Victoria square.

Flashback to September 1980 when a local claimed to have seen a red and white UFO over Craven Park in Hull. It was reported to Humberside Police who reported it to the Ministry of Defence. Tonight Coldplay will perform there. πŸ‘½

Let's join the citywide #ColdplayHull hooha and post this map of the site of the venue, Sewell Group Craven Park in 1936, when the city was expanding into the fields to the east. The ancient route of Poorhouse Lane is upper centre. Hull Museums Hull Libraries Hull KR

Let's go out of town today, under the Spring Bank West railway bridge towards the new 1930s suburb of Derringham. There are still advertising hoardings on the right. Hull Museums Hull Libraries
