Los Angeles is a city on the brink, facing the fallout of natural and manmade disasters as it prepares for the 2028 Olympics. Now, the LA City Council has approved a $30 mandate that will make things even worse.

Sen. Josh Hawley should learn from California, a state he loves to criticize. The Not-So-Golden State's experiment with a higher minimum wage has triggered a fast-food recession, costing thousands of jobs and forcing the closure of countless restaurants. epionline.org/release/new-da…

In fact, Sen Josh Hawley, roughly half the minimum wage workforce works at small businesses with 100 or fewer employees. These aren't so-called "woke corporations," but rather mom-and-pops that will be harmed by your fight for $15. online.wsj.com/article/SB1000…

I'm reminded of the old SNL skit, "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave." One Fair Wage can't take a hint. ➡️Servers and bartenders don't want this ➡️GOP and Dem legislators don't want this ➡️Governor Whitmer doesn't want this No one wants to eliminate the MI tipped wage besides a

California's most-obnoxious union UNITE HERE Local 11 wants a $30 minimum wage for hotels, but apparently can't afford to pay its canvassers the same hourly wage.

Excellent take on public sector unions, which captures why even Franklin Roosevelt was opposed: "a strike of public employees...looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable."

New evidence on Gavin Newsom's disastrous $20 minimum wage, this time published by the National Bureau of Economic Research. An estimated *18,000* jobs lost from the policy, which tracks prior estimates from Employment Policies Institute. cc: Katy Grimes Kevin Kiley

Tragic: Ward 3 institution Steak'n Egg diner closing, cites #Initiative82 labor costs as a driving factor. Perhaps Councilmember Matt Frumin should pay a visit and explain that, actually, tip credit elimination has been a striking success...

Each time I read an uninformed tip credit piece, like this one by Eyal Press, I take comfort remembering that One Fair Wage has consistently lost. I'm happy to let Saru Jayaraman count her wins in press clips, because most of her other work has been for naught.

A win for DC's tipped workers, and yet another loss for One Fair Wage and Saru Jayaraman. This doesn't undo the massive damage from #Initiative82, and there's more work to do on that in years ahead. But for today, it helps stop the bleeding, and that's worth celebrating.

California economics, in three easy steps! 1. State raises minimum wage 2. Wage hike forces businesses to automate 3. State bans businesses from automating Of course, the fourth step is businesses close down or leave the state. Maybe they'll try to ban that, too...

This election at a Ford joint venture should have been a layup for the UAW, but instead it's clinging to an 11-vote lead with 41 challenged ballots. More evidence of the union's tarnished brand under Shawn Fain's leadership.
