This is such an important concept I learned the hard way. Trying to protect yourself from 2% of bad clients will end up pissing off 98% of your good clients.

Pro tip: if you're using OpenTelemetry with Golang, don't use log.Fatal(). Because most loggers call os.Exit() and that won't trigger deferred statements and thus likely no flushing of OTel data happens.

Becoming increasingly annoyed by IntelliJ IDEA, a JetBrains IDE . Regularly have to restart and clear caches because its showing compile errors (Go) that simply aren't there, removes imports that are needed, ... But yesterday had to completely remove a .idea project folder because it was stuck?
