I've always dreamed of knowing git/bash/regex as well as my LLM does now. I mean, I was pretty good, but even Gemini Flash Preview is 100x more knowledgable.

I can't say I'm "all in" on AI -- there be dragons! -- but there's a lot of upside. Working with an AI can teach the prompter to communicate better -- it's ALWAYS your fault, just like with people ;) -- and also break you out of the praise/rebuke game.

Gemini destroyed ChatGPT today on home repair help. ChatGPT 5.2 has somehow gotten both stupider and smarter. I'm not sure what's happening but my understanding is that no one actually understands.

A friend who is not paying for any LLM which one to get started with. I said Gemini Pro. I honestly think it's a great starting point in 2026, and an even more amazing bet going forward. I was in love with ChatGPT, but 5.2 is just weird.

After 4 years with Apple Watch Ultra (now Ultra 2), I've downgraded to a 46mm Series 11. Though it's rare that thinner, lighter and prettier is a downgrade.

Playing off Gemini, Claude Code and Codex isn't just cheap (cheapest monthly each). It's also smart and catches all kinds of edge cases I couldn't find myself (and no one individually can find)

When visionOS came out, some smart people said, "you should implement for the Apple Vision Pro!" Which reminded me of the time someone said to implement for the MBP touchbar thing. Laziness does have its rewards.

it's always disturbing to me when I have to reach into Derived Data and delete some things. I feel like Xcode could figure it out.

Every few years I run the Xcode Profiler, freak out, spend some serious time, and then realize I'm reading the wrong column. Total Bytes grows because it includes transient allocations... of course!
