Friendship 7, the spacecraft John Glenn orbited the Earth in 60 years ago today, is now on temporary display at our Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia. It was previously on display at the Museum in DC, but was moved recently due to that location's ongoing renovation.

60 years ago today, NASA launched one of the most important human spaceflights in American history. My dear friend John Glenn will forever be remembered as the first American to orbit the Earth. His record-breaking flight demonstrated true American ingenuity at its finest. 🇺🇸
