Days like this I remember why I became a learning disability nurse. We often underestimate the power of a cuppa - a change to the ward environment, a chat with someone new & a cuppa…the small things that can sometimes make a big difference to how someone feels.

UK 2023: “Due to the soaring cost of infant formula, families experiencing food poverty are being forced to resort to unsafe feeding practices, including stretching out time between feeds and giving their babies food which is not suitable, like porridge." theguardian.com/business/2023/…

THIS!!! we’re in a good position now with an amazing TA at secondary school & teachers who listen. If only primary school had not blamed ‘the parents’ we might not have a daily battle now. Sometimes the damage done lasts 😢 wish we had more of Pastoral Katy in early childhood

So important that we recognise parents as partners in care. It’s time to stop calling people Mum or Dad etc. parents often take the time to learn out names, we need to show the same respect. Thanks for sharing @Sarahebaker29

Identify distress by comparing the person’s current presentation to their baseline - particularly important for somebody with a life limiting diagnosis to help with symptom control

We are conducting a ‘State of the Nation’ survey to gather the experiences of adults with ADHD (or who suspect they have ADHD). The survey takes about 7-8 minutes to complete, please share if you have a chance ❤️ Link: forms.office.com/e/ruAveZeuXA
