Truman ordered desegregation of the military but was largely stonewalled by the military brass. Eisenhower had more experience in military affairs and couldn’t be rolled.

6 June 1944. This 54 year old general made the call knowing the potential implication. I can’t imagine the mental & emotional strain. And it’s so very hard to comprehend the sacrifices for a new future that were the result. We cannot waste now what happened on that day.

Yes, because the Allies fought an efficient war and valued the lives of their troops rather than a totally reckless and cruel one the Soviet leadership did.

Heard the sad news about Brian today and thought about all the years I’ve been listening to him and admiring his genius. Rest in peace dear Brian.

These discussions usually seem to devolve into someone explaining how the Great American Novel is a mirage and in the same breath crowning Moby Dick with the title.

Dune, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Godfather, Schindler’s List, Batman Begins, and (apparently) Avatar were all influenced by Lawrence of Arabia or Seven Pillars of Wisdom.

Eisenhower is the greatest modern leader for designing and implementing the core western strategies that won WWII and the Cold War. No other leader made such large contributions to defeating two major enemies of democracy. Also that Germany could have won WWII.

BasedSpaceGoji IMO, the book worked around this theme a lot better. in the movie, it makes it seem like the park only failed because of Nedry's sabotage, but in the book, it shows that the park was doomed to fail from the start, for example, dinos on the mainland, raptors loose in the park, etc.
