I posted a thread re: the (controversial?) utility of the day 14 marrow in patients with AML who are undergoing intensive induction. It's over on BlueSky: bsky.app/profile/michae…

MOVE YOUR BODY. Aim for at least 30 minutes every day. More is better. Walk. Run. Lift weights. Dance. Garden. If possible, do some of this outdoors. Whatever you do, don’t be a hero. Start small. Consistent effort compounds over time. Inertia is real—it works in both directions.

Don’t aim for consistently heroic efforts. Aim for being heroic at consistency. Heroic efforts = take a huge toll emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Not a sustainable thing to strive for. Consistency = compounds over time. Good enough over and over again makes you great.

Watching this race over and over again. It had it all. Josh Kerr just narrowly beats Cole Hocker in 3:34.44. Marco Arop went for it, fought for every place and comes away as the Slam champion. The 1500m is the best event in track.

Graduation season! One group of "super-seniors" currently graduating are residency and fellowship trained doctors - who have done typically at least 7 (commonly 10 or more) years after college to become experts who may now practice independently. Sharing what I said recently:

Leadership simplified: Hire good people. Give them the tools to succeed. Provide them the security to take calculated risks. Get out of their way. Let go of over-controlling. Support, don't thwart. Cultivate intrinsic motivation. Trust them to do their job.
