Thank you, Susan Collins for Senator, for meeting with Little Lobbyist families earlier today! As you heard firsthand, #Medicaid is vital for many Mainers. We urge you to vote against this bill that will hurt your constituents. Please #ProtectMedicaid!

As I showed in a recent Bloomberg Opinion column, U.S. CBO's long-run projections were actually quite reasonable--non-interest spending as a share of GDP next year will probably match what CBO projected back in 2000. It's just that exogenous factors--tax cuts, wars, & recessions--intervened

Good piece on the reconciliation bill's extra tax benefit for wealthy heirs. I'd add that the "double tax" argument against taxing estates is flawed: over half the value of the largest estates consists of unrealized capital gains - income that has never been taxed.

"As the big, ugly GOP budget bill moves, advocates for a fair economy are hitting the road. Two orgs — Fair Share America and Unrig Our Economy — are bringing experts and stakeholders on a bus tour to publicize the high stakes in this budget debate." inequality.org/article/billio…

Twenty years ago the GOP stood for huge tax cuts for the rich and wars of choice in the middle east, but then Donald Trump totally remade the party and realigned American poltiics, and now the GOP stands for...huge tax cuts for the rich and wars of choice in the middle east.

Trump's approval rating just hit a new low in his second term — and Americans remain deeply negative about the economy, tariffs and their personal finances.

Shameless. They are right now pushing a budget bill that will raise costs for 40% of Americans while delivering a massive tax cut for the rich.

Depriving millions of people of health insurance will create financial problems for rural hospitals, so the GOP solution is to try to come up with a targeted hospital bailout rather than letting people keep their health care.

Congressional Republicans need to wake up! 79% of Americans support Medicaid and cutting it is a dealbreaker for most voters. 72% of Independents and 51% of Republicans will say NO to your re-election if you say YES to Medicaid cuts. Keep your hands off Medicaid — or lose. -NP

Our Director Michael Linden testified before Congress about why this GOP tax bill is uniquely bad: “No major piece of legislation in at least 40 years—and probably longer than that—has simultaneously made the poor poorer while making the rich richer.”

The two-step here is: (1) Enact large Medicaid cuts that cause millions to lose coverage and rural hospitals to close (2) Create a stabilization fund to bail out those hospitals Just spitballing but there might be a better way to protect rural patients and hospitals...

Relief funds are typically created for events like natural disasters. This amounts to Republicans admitting their own policies are going to have a catastrophic impact on rural hospitals.
