Singing a song from the Codex of Alienor of Brittany (13th century.) The book primarily contains gregorian chants, but also features a rare example of an early polyphony sequence- a rhythmical poem sung after the Alleluia and before the Gospel- about Mary.

I think it’s difficult to make a great film about foundational mythos. There is such wide appeal I think it’s hard to make something that can “feel” right to everyone. Thoughts?

It’s interesting that when you talk about people *being* what they *do* you get an interesting mixture, right and left, liking the post even though the implications of whatever it means in context is likely opposite for both of them.

If we give-in, only then do we become defined, identified, by it. What we do about it matters more.

Being conservative has nothing to do with the mean between thesis & antithesis. The mean as a North Star is a recipe for mediocrity & stagnation. The North Star can only be the truth. Be conservative relative to the truth, not the mean.

The problem for progressive Church folks is that there’s 2000 (or so) years of material that unsuspecting people can read & engage with that put a lie to their vision. Converts are stubborn things bc they take it seriously. Hard to memory hole the tradition & scripture.
