Ronan McGreevy Have you a link to that study please, Ronan? It sounds very interesting, as it seems to suggest much better sensitivity than previous studies. If true, it offers the prospect of a return to normality fairly quickly.

It's been a difficult few months for everyone. And I've been struggling to paint too. But I enjoyed painting these primroses during the warm spell in April.

I hardly ever post anything on my home page. But here goes. And no racist comments please - I will delete and block immediately. My heart is filled with pride this morning on that magnificent win yesterday by the Irish mixed 400 m relay team. I've watched it at least ten times!

About time I posted a painting rather than arguing with anonymous people! So here's a recent one based on photos taken outside my back door early one morning a few weeks ago - Fucshia, Early Morning (14"x 18" Oil on Stretched Canvas).

I've begun to block any posters who restrict replies. If one can't engage, why bother reading their drivel?

Another painting from just before Christmas. Gone from flowers to stormy seas. Regardless, probably appropriate due to recent weather events here and an increasingly "turbulent" world elsewhere. "Atlantic Power, Hook Head" is oil on a 12" x 16" panel.

A new painting, mostly completed outdoors, on successive days during the recent fine spell. For my international friends, we've enjoyed some wonderful weather in April/May. For my Irish friends, hopefully, it's not the end of summer! "Guem and Pansies" 14" x 18" Oil on Canvas.

It's been a while since I posted a painting here. So, a new one just off the ease. Sweet pea can be challenging to paint, especially when backlit as in this case. The painting challenge is capturing realistic translucence - not easy. Crystal vases aren't easy either!

This is the last in a series of four paintings (all oil on 20" x 20" stretched canvas) done from a combination of plein air sketches and photos of the flowers behind my studio during the summer.

I just finished this painting a couple of days ago. We got a great crop of eating apples this year and I took some photos of the last of them. As ever, my painting eye was drawn to the backlight. It's oil on 12" x 16" canvas. Happy Christmas everyone.
