Housing backdrop continues to deteriorate in some parts of the country while other continue to see new lows in inventory. The economy doesn't "land" (broad-based reacceleration) until housing does and the HOPE cycle restarts. Until then, we remain in a world of bifurcation nation

Now housing is bifurcated too. Thus, we have a K-shaped economy, and a K-shape within an industry in the bottom portion of the K. The silver lining is that lower prices can improve affordability while interest rates remain sticky. The road to normalization has to start somewhere.
