No one could have seen this coming. Except for all of us who were screaming that undermining the economy and increasing the cost of drilling with tariffs would cause oil production to drop.

We prepare for a conflict with China by applying tariffs that strengthen their hand. They prepare for conflict by becoming a maritime superpower. We can fix this if we want to.

Prosecutorial discretion differentiates free & fascist societies. Free: the rule of law and specific processes must be followed to protect the innocent. Fascist: the ruler can detain & deport as they see fit, using masked/anonymous agents to sweep people up, even if innocent.

Spain's massive April blackout: Grid operator REE didn't schedule enough thermal plants for voltage control, and the thermal plants that were running failed to provide the grid services they were paid for. TLDR: Grid ops/planning mismanagement, not renewables, caused the crisis.
