Great to visit British Antarctic Survey 🐧 today. We forecast for their Antarctic bases and collaborate on areas from ocean monitoring to space weather. The glass contains glacial ice with bubbles of ancient air which tell us so much about the pre-industrial #climate

One thing that’s been little remarked-on is the effectiveness of warning and evacuation. They even got the livestock out. This could have been a much worse tragedy: early warning saves lives.
