Do you want to contribute to the challenge where we need to reduce greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions while working towards circularity and biodiversity without losing focus on animal health and welfare? Are you our new colleague at WUR Livestock? Apply: wur.nl/en/vacancy/Res…
I enjoyed working with Yvette de Haas, Roel Veerkamp, and Gerben de Jong on our paper "Selective breeding as a mitigation tool for methane emissions from dairy cattle". We explored the effect of selecting for lower methane and phenotyping strategies. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
To reduce #methane #emissions, new study finds it necessary to include methane in #BreedingGoals #ResearchResults by Coralia Manzanilla et al. Read more here bit.ly/3k0rdDA
@WCGALP2022 has two session on GHGs, I’m helping as local co-chair with Suzanne Rowe and Marcin Pszczola. “Genetic solutions to achieve net zero carbon emission in livestock systems” (General challenges) and “Novel traits: Environment and greenhouse gas” (Technical aspects).
We're excited that Prof. Jennie Pryce (Prof Jennie Pryce) is one of the keynote speakers at #WCGALP2022. Professor Pryce is known for her work on novel traits in dairy cattle (see dairybio.com.au). Yet another good reason to join #WCGALP2022!
