🏆 The 2024 MES Student Paper Award goes to Thayer Hastings, from GC CUNY Anthropology (#FreeCUNY!) for “The Inheritances of Non-Citizenship: Immobility and the Family in the Bir Ona Borderland," about the problem of statelessness & non-citizenship among 🇵🇸residents of Jerusalem. 🎉🎊

🏆 We also awarded an honorable mention for the 2024 MES Student Paper prize to Leen Alfatafta GW University for "Motherly Affects," which examines how mothering/hood emerges as a 'relationally dispossessive' in Iman Mersal's *How to Mend: Motherhood and Its Ghosts* 🎉🎊

🏆Our 2024 MES Photography Prize went to to Shonara Awad Oklahoma State Univ. +Hanan Awad, whose series captures the militarization of everyday life in the Israeli-occupied al-Khalil/Hebron for Palestinians, especially poignantly in the case of children trying to get to school #FreePalestine
