On 23.08.1939, Nazi Germany and Communist Russia agreed to divide Europe, sparking the bloodiest war in history. The war in Ukraine is a continuation of that war, as communist crimes and Russia were never condemned. My address at the European Parliament commemorating the anniversary:

This week at the European Parliament, our member Andrzej Halicki MEP hosted an exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising

Today our member Miriam M. Lexmann opened an exhibition at the European Parliament in Brussels to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the fall of communism in Slovakia (Czechoslovakia) in November 1989

Fruitful exchange with Commissioner Michael McGrath & informal Informal MEP Group on European Remembrance group. Russia & its allies still distort & weaponise history to justify aggression & threats against EU. Key issue to discuss as the Commissioner works to implement the European Democracy Shield.

A historic decision! In its resolution, European Parliament condemns the nationalist imperialist ideology and practices of the current Russian regime (Russkiy Mir) and denounces any claims to exclusive zones of interest that undermine state sovereignty and territorial integrity.

80 years ago, WWII ended - but not for all of Europe. For many in the East, it marked the start of Soviet occupation and totalitarian oppression. Today, the legacy of uncondemned Soviet crimes fuels Russia’s imperial ambitions. Statement by European Parliament Members on the occasion
