We are back to #flowerworkshop2024 with Barbara Ambrose (Barbara Ambrose) talking about evolution and development of sporangia. C. richardii is a fern used as model. RNASeq + Arabidopsis comparative genomics pointed usual candidates like SPL/NZZ. SPL is conserved in land plants.

Lisa Rotasperti from Masiero&Pesaresi Lab closes the session at #floweringworkshop2024 presenting a novel silique senescence regulator, GERAS. NAC100 gene regulates silique growth. Most NAC’s genes are involved in silique expansion except GERAS which is involved in silique senescence

Mauricio Di Marzo (Colombo Lab PlantDev UNIMI) presents the contribution of starch metabolism in sperm fertilization at #floweringworkshop2024. STK & ABS are expressed in maternal tissue during fertilization. Double mutant affect it with an important contribution of starch genes (eg, RE1).
