Angry Perth parents will protest against a development including three fast food outlets and a service station opposite a primary school. Sunrise

Time and time again fast food outlets are approved next to homes and schools despite strong community objection and evidence of their negative impact on community health. It’s time for planning regs to enable planning healthy sustainable communities.

Big day today for parent power. The kids at this school will smell the chips cooking when they play on the oval and see the big bright signs of 3 fast food outlets, if approved.

At PHAA is on Bluesky in #Darwin, we delved into the impact of campaigns like Find Cancer Early in regional Western Australia. Securing funding was just the first step - now, the ongoing challenge lies in evaluating their effectiveness amidst rising costs. #Prevention2024

We know that junk food ads are everywhere. They are hard to miss and many target children. Big junk food giants are making $ at the expense of the health of children, families and communities. Enough is enough. It's time we put a stop to these harmful ads.

Since 2019, communities have opposed junk food outlets especially near schools. All ignored. We’re asking the community to sign the petition showing they want/need the recommendations from WA government sustainable health review implemented

Thanks to past and present Cancer Council WA staff for the vision of skin cancer prevention in WA. This result isn’t possible without sustained funding, from Healthway @WAHealth and the generous WA community. Prevention works! Thanks Louisa Collins ☀️ ⭐️
