Today saw the first two days of advent being opened. A traditional cardboard calendar with doors to open, an advent house with chocolate coins/candy canes and the Little People, Big Dreams advent full of little books too. Whose class and number will be randomly chosen tomorrow?

More advent winners and several children proud of their work and deserving of a Headteacher’s sticker - trying hard with handwriting and sentence writing.

Thank you to Mr Barnes who took some of our pupils to make Christmas cards with some of the residents at a local care home. These community links are so important to develop teamwork, empathy and to show how spending time with others is so valuable.

A few advent photos to catch up on. Every day the recipient opens all three calendars and then pulls out the next class and number that matches to a child in the school. On Monday the lucky winner is someone from our Pre-School.

Not sure we were expecting our first day back to be so eventful (🥶❄️🌨️🌧️☔️) but lovely to have the children back and great to see some of our Foundation Stage children writing about their Christmas presents.

Some amazing bread rolls made by our year 5 pupils today - they made the corridor smell delightful all morning. Hope the children enjoyed making and eating them and that they didn’t make as much mess as Mrs Vardy!

Stories read in assembly this week. The way home for wolf about how we sometimes need to accept help from others and The Hope-o-potamus about persevering and not giving up. It was lovely to hear how some of our children have shown perseverance & how it made them feel in the end.

Fridays are always a great day for seeing how our Rocksteady bands are getting on with their rehearsals. Not bad for only their second session practising their new song. 🎤🎹🎸🥁#teamwork #creativity

Congratulations to our yr 6 maths team who took part in the Trust wide competition at Glen Hills Primary School this afternoon. It was lovely to spend time with so many children who have a love for maths. Thank you to Glen Hills for hosting & to Mrs Rudd for taking our children.

Well done for winning the Spirit of the Games award at the year 5&6 basketball competition this week. It is always lovely to hear about how supportive our pupils are & how hard they always try regardless of the results of their matches. Keep being the best version of yourselves.
