Today P6/7 enjoyed a visit from Mr Mullan who works as a Steel Detailer in Severfield. It was a fantastic way to enhance our WAU topic after exploring different bridge structures and completing our Explanation Writing on how suspension bridges are built during this week.

#OddSocksDay in Meadow Bridge will take place on Monday. At the beginning of #AntiBullyingWeek and in an effort to embrace difference and celebrate unique personalities, all your child has to do to take part is wear odd socks to school as part of their uniform. Thank you!

We had a tremendous response to this year’s Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoebox Appeal. Thank you to every member of our school community who contributed to this and these will go to families in need this Christmas time.

We had a colourful #OddSocksDay to begin this year's Anti-Bullying Week in Meadow Bridge. There were plenty of wacky and crazy colours on show - a perfect example of how we are all unique, different and individual in our journey through life. P1/2 have been thinking about Remembrance Day and have created poems about poppies. P1 used physical objects to describe the colours of poppies while P2 used pictures to write beautiful poems.

Miss Campbell’s P5 class had a very special Roots of Empathy session with Megan and baby Cillian. They got to hear about Cillian’s development… how he sleeps and what he likes to play with. We thank Megan for sharing her lovely baby with us.

Miss Campbell’s P5 class had a brilliant trip to Windsor Park Stadium. They were shown trophies and heard interesting information about various players. They even got to sit in the media room and visit the players changing rooms. A memorable day out!

Well done to the boys from P6 who went down to represent school in the U11 LDSFA league this afternoon. The effort they showed in four very close games against strong opposition was extremely impressive!

P3 had a super Intergenerational Bulb Planting morning with grandparents. We planted lots of different bulbs ready for Spring. We found out how worms help us make compost. A lovely morning was spent together. A big thank you to Victoria from LCCC for organising and helping us.

Our School Council enjoyed meeting with our new Principal, Mr. Brown, this afternoon and discussing their manifestos and ideas for the future. A great opportunity to hear ‘pupil voice’ in our school and what new initiatives we could try and introduce.

For our final Forest School session, we had a great time painting outdoors surrounded by nature. Afterwards, we warmed up with delicious hot chocolate.
