Results from a recent DNA-analysis of some odd Lesser Whitethroats from the last years was just returned. The star bird - a dark and heavy billed C. c. althaea - represents the third record for Europe! #ottenby #birdringing #birdbanding #birdmigration

Just 5% of the UK's peatland in good condition is equivalent to our entire annual anthropogenic greenhouse emissions. Stop the grouse moors from destroying it and invest the £22b in renewables rather than prolonging the life of fossil fuels. Say hi to the lobbyists. 👋

Dear The Labour Party This is a #tree 🌳 #CarbonCapture technology perfected by development & refinement (#evolution) over the past 360 million years or so. Amazingly they will take #carbon from the atmosphere right now & they really work. So how about £22bn for #NatureBasedSolutions?

We are rightly outraged by ongoing large scale migrant bird trapping in eg Cyprus, Malta, etc. However it seems to be acceptable that I can stand at my local marsh, a NNR and SSSI, and watch four gunmen blasting migrant ducks and geese out of the sky and that’s somehow ok? Why?

It would be great if all the conservationists/naturalists or just folk in the know, could get behind our 2 hectare heathland restoration plan by liking and reposting this. Please show that it matters as much to someone miles away as it does to someone locally! #conservation

Wow! What a stunning bird, a melanistic lapwing in Little Marlow. It seems the whole plumage is the beautiful, iridescent black feathers found on a normal lapwings back. Bucks Bird News bucks bird club

Labour are backtracking on a plan to help save birds: by blocking a new rule that would make developers put a £35 nest brick in every new home. They think it'll help win them votes - we need to show it would do the opposite. Sign the petition 38d.gs/9qg-

Taken aback by this 15th Century sculpture of Prince Henry The Navigator in a museum at the Fortaleza de Sagres, Portugal - I genuinely thought it was Jeremy Clarkson!! Jeremy Clarkson

So frustrating hearing & seeing fruit & seed bearing hedges being cut ahead of winter. We have lost 50% of our hedgerows since the 1950’s, no wonder we are in a “”#BiodiversityEmergency in the UK.

Bottom trawling=one of the most destructive fishing methods in our seas. It drags heavy nets across the ocean floor🐟 Today is the final day to respond to GOV.UK’s consultation on banning this practice in England. Tell Minister Hardy you support the ban👉 wtru.st/save-our-seas
