At the exact time Iran engaged in a civilian punishment strategy by intentionally firing scores of ballistic missiles into Israeli population centers to maximize civilian death, Professor Robert Pape criticized Israel for engaging in a punishment strategy against civilians lol.

A lesson Israel presumably learned from Gaza is to not pause the military campaign when it’s working no matter how many haters in the international community pretend to be well-intentioned mediators.

Tehran has asked Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman to press Trump to use his influence on Israel to agree to an immediate ceasefire with Iran in return for Iranian flexibility in nuclear negotiations, two Iranian and three regional sources told Reuters.

Over the course of the war, we’ve seen how ballistic missiles could become an existential threat for Israel even without nuclear weapons. Iran has been poised to massively bolster its missile arsenal into the many, many thousands which on a small country could be fatal even with

What MAGA critics of American participation in the war don’t get is that the US military is great at some things, terrible at others. What it can’t do is promote liberal democracy in countries that lack it. What it can do is blow things up like a nuclear reactor in a mountain.

I used to think the terms to Iran should be no uranium enrichment or state sponsorship of terrorism. Because of how terrible Iran is at war I’d throw in no more missiles.

This is a very simplistic understanding of the dangers of nuclear weapons acquisition. Pakistan ramped up its support for terrorism when it got nukes because it could hide behind its nuclear shield. Iran is a much, much bigger sponsor of terrorism. Why wouldn’t Iran do the same?

I’m very happy with Trump. He’s faced a lot of resistance including among prominent members of MAGA and even his own government. And yet, Trump appears to have handled the Iran situation perfectly despite the noise.
