Today the Sonntagszeitung talks about electricity savings. One of our studies shows that in the short run, we can save about 11% of electricity, and in the long run, more than 30%. Bastien Girod Jürg Grossen Roger Nordmann Schweizerische Energie-Stiftung (SES) sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

As I affirmed in a roundtable with colleagues at ETH Zürich, we need a shock to achieve a sustainable energy system. The current crisis can be an excellent opportunity for change that will make us suffer a little in the short term but give us more prosperity in the medium term.

Yet another sharp increase in health insurance premiums in Switzerland! We need a reform! A possible measure mentioned in a paper in 2006:“..the Federal government may play a stronger role in organizing the health care system, e.g. by explicitly planning the number of physicians”

Who should shoulder the responsibility of absorbing atmospheric carbon? Historical responsibility is on developed nations. Reaching #NetZeroby2050 with #NetNegative developed nations aids the transition for low-income ones, which can be #NetPositive. On stage & having a blast🔝🌟

Swiss Parliament passed a new CO2 law with two important weaknesses: it doesn't follow the polluter-pays principle and is not in line with one of the energy policy goals, i.e., security of supply. Abating CO2 emissions abroad does not promote renewable energy production in CH.

I am grateful for every moment spent among the Alps glaciers, such as yesterday when I witnessed the breathtaking beauty of the mountains. However, it’s bittersweet—what I experience today may only be preserved in photos for future generations. We urgently need energy policies.
