kinda annoyed that Auckland Transport is building the new pedestrian bridge at Glen innes station in the little green space rather than in the (free) car park area. yet nimbys will harp on about the loss of trees and green space when new homes get built.

This is why you hire an architect. It's amazing how poorly a lot of architects are able to communicate this. Marilyn does a wonderful job as usual.

means testing teenagers on the benefits they receive sets a precedent for any future govt of any stripe to mean test for super and a whole lot of other stuff that boomers receive while holding a shit ton of assets and wealth.

this is so dumb. I've said this before developers trade on land because it's profitable. they will trade on better/more housing products if that is more profitable. to enable the later just do massive amounts of upzoning and liberalise the consenting pathway.

The ACT’s ‘missing middle’ planning reforms show that Canberra doesn’t have to choose between protecting the “garden city” and making housing more affordable. It can, and it should, do both. Catch the full op-ed from Brendan Coates and myself for the Canberra Times. Link below.

you know when architects show you really cool renders at night or like on a moody rainy day. yeah cool but it will never look like that. CRL stations in real life look more like those renders than the renders ever did.

these are some interesting changes.over in the UK. basically enabling and prioritising small and medium scale developers. something worth considering here in Ao/NZ

The NSW government's plans to upzone Sydney's North Shore are being bitterly contested. A Lindfield resident provides a good description of the (typical) issues at stake.

how much land is undervalued in the same way in Auckland and across Ao/NZ resulting in lost taxes and revenue to pay for the things we expect as a high income society.
