Sometimes people make promises. They say they will do something. They say they are going to help you or believe in you & want to see you involved or engaged. But it doesn’t happen. Nothing. You be faithful even when others aren’t. Even if you are overlooked. Do right & honor Him.

“And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.” —Exodus 33:14 One may not feel His presence but His presence is a fact even if one does not feel it. We can rest in this fact by faith.

If you do not stand up to, against, & expose wolves you will find them devouring the flock. You cannot play with or platform or trust wolves.

Kindness isn’t cowardice. But cowardice loves to dress up as kindness. If you affirm feelings but ignore sin, you’re not shepherding—you’re surrendering. Full article ⬇️ open.substack.com/pub/virgilwalk…

“We need to reminisce on the Lord’s faithfulness. I need to remember & recall my blessings. The Lord has never not been good to us.”—Pastor Donnie Wilkins (my Dad)

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” —1 John 4:10-11

Remember follower of Jesus, you have been redeemed & placed into the Lord’s family. We live here now. But we are headed home to be w Him one day. This world isn’t home. We aren’t home yet. Eyes on Jesus. Live for Him. Point to Him. Grow in Him. Make much of Him.

Hype & revival are not the same. Falling in love with Jesus & obeying Him and living for Him are not always flashy. Vance Havner used to say, “Revival is falling in love with Jesus all over again.” When that happens, it drives every area of your life in public & private.

It’s not a matter of how high you jump, loud you shout & sing. If you have no integrity & don’t walk straight w the Lord it’s just a show. Many are just good manipulators & give an appearance of integrity, genuineness, & living for Jesus when it’s about self. Take up the cross.

For His will to be done then my will has to go. If His kingdom is to come then my kingdom has to go. I’m the clay. He is the potter. I am the iron in the fire. He is the blacksmith with the hammer. He knows what He’s doing.

Leadership is not about self. It’s about others. If you are going to grow & help then you cannot focus on self but how to help others. Humbly walk & model the way, yourself. Never expect or demand of others what you yourself aren’t & won’t do.

Leadership is not about titles. It’s about towels. To lead you must model what it is to serve. If you don’t want a towel & wont use the towel then you shouldn’t have or be given the title. Integrity & humility go a long way. Towels not titles.

“The fear of man is a snare” Seeking to appease & please culture or man does not ultimately lead to a good end. There’s always more that they will want. It will never be enough. Simply do right, with integrity & humility, for His glory.
