Imagine walking into Tesco for your weekly shop and finding row after row of nice, tidy, low maintenance shelves but without the food. You and your kids would starve. That's how Bees, Birds, Hedgehogs etc feel when they visit your plastic garden #TimeForTurf #DontBeAnEmptyTescos

Brilliant views of White-tailed Eagles on Mull this week. Nice to see 2 of this years' juveniles following an adult to the coast.

Lapwing are still my favourite birds. They even look great in the rain! I have been doing more music than birding this year, creating lots of original tracks with a friend and calling ourselves 'Lapwing65'. Please have a look/ listen at my new Twitter feed Lapwing65

Some unusual visitors at Oldbury this afternoon: 7 Whooper Swan flew up-river and 9 Bewick's Swan, including 5 juvs were on the mud before flying north. Also, a female Black Redstart at the jetty.

Nice close views of waders this morning at Littleton on Severn while doing my monthly BTO WeBS count. Highlight was a Jack Snipe right out in the open through the scope but flew in to cover before I could get a photo.

Thankfully (for the hope of their conservation), Curlew are relatively long-lived birds. These colour-ringed birds were ringed on the Severn estuary in 2010. Some of their rings are getting faded now which makes tricky reading #CurlewAction

Very quiet midsummer Litteton on Severn WeBS count was livened up by these very underrated Meadow Browns in morning light.

Mechanical Man. New song from Lapwing65. Inspired by AI debate but an organic composition. youtu.be/pPYXpOMdU7o?si…

Sickening. What vile vile people. You unfortunately I can’t go and protests against the Berkeley Hunt this year but I’m sure the like minded locals will be there. Sadly we are normally in a minority. So if you free get yourself to Thornbury high street on Boxing Day.
