July 10th of ‘22 was my last Sunday pastoring a church and being on this side of Sunday morning is weird. I have so many thoughts…

Maybe as part of this next chapter of church for me I’ll start tweeting thoughts during church in Sunday mornings. I’ll call it, “The Pastor Peanut Gallery” or, “Thoughts from the Cheap Seats.”

We need to stop saying/singing that it was our sin that kept Jesus on the cross, it was his great love for us. Sin is not nor ever will be stronger than his love.

How do “eternal security” or “perseverance of the saints” peeps explain/understand Hebrews 6:4-8?

I’m just guessing here but if you find yourself needing to critique or criticize a revival or Super Bowl ads about Jesus, both of which might make you uncomfortable, you should find something else to spend your energy on.

My goodness. And we wonder why people aren’t into church. I’m grateful to be doing ministry in a completely different setting.

If your church is not doing a congregational “welcome time,” they better be some of the most outgoing, welcoming church people around…which I’m guessing they’re not…so just do the greeting time!

Missions are specific opportunities to show people Jesus. More show and less tell. #pastorpeanutgallery #othersideofthepulpit

First time in 20yrs not being responsible for Easter or Holy Week services as a pastor. While there is plenty I could say about that, I will say…the grave is empty, so Church, start living that way! #Easter

I find Sen. Katie Britt’s speech style and delivery very awkward and difficult to engage.

I couldn’t tell if she was going to start crying, read us a bedtime story, or get pissed at us.
