Very excited to be talking about my PhD research this Sunday with Dr Shane Huntington OAM on Einstein A Go Go as part of the #20phds20mins. I’ll be talking about the role of the mucus barrier in gastrointestinal disease!

Today's #FluorescenceFriday features a stunning Swiss Roll of human colon labelled for innervation markers🎨. This was captured at incredible speed using our @VisiTech_UK iSIM microscope to image 1456 individual tiles, each with 21 Z-Steps! 🔬 Work from Matthew Rowe 🌟

So excited that this beast is out. We went to a lot of trouble to understand what the TRPV4 ion channel is doing in the colon. This paper has beautiful immuno, calcium imagining, functional studies, high end analytical tools. It includes analysis of tissue from multiple species.

Gut analysis toolbox (GAT) is out! Its based in Fiji & aims to automate image analysis tasks in gut neuroscience.Using AI models you can segment neurons. We use GAT to characterize neuronal distribution & reveal regional differences via spatial analysis Integrated Neurogenic Mechanisms Laboratory

What a great first day to #APMC13! I also had the privilege as the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Society student rep to organise a dinner with the AMMS PhD students. It’s great to meet other students at the beginning of the conference and I’m looking forward to the rest of the week! Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Students
