The companion is a white dwarf, about 300,000 times the density of the Earth. It is the burnt-out remains of a star probably about 6-7 times that of our Sun.

Although very dense, the white dwarf is "dwarfed" by the density of the pulsar. One teaspoon of it would weigh more than all of humanity.
