Here’s the thing about Don Hay. No one is more recognizable in junior hockey circles than him. Everyone feels they “know” Hayzer. On the road, the ferry or out for dinner, fans constantly approach him to tell their personal story of their seven degrees of separation. 1/2

Why is that? My own philosophy is he reminds people of the best time of their lives. They remember the Memorial Cups in the 90’s, or the World Juniors they watched on TV with family over the Christmas Holidays. He has both character & charisma. A good man and a “coaches coach.”
