Had an exciting delivery this week: our latest class novel, #Malamander! I think this book has, quite possibly, one of the best opening chapters to get a bunch of children immediately hooked! My Year 6 are already desperate to read more so, for this, I thank you Thomas Taylor!

Twitter folk, we’re doing a brand new History topic with our Year 6 class this term on the Windrush Generation. We’ve got the History planned but we would love to invest in some new books linked to this topic (particularly non-fiction) for our class library. Any recommendations?

After weeks of hard work, we pulled off the most incredible production of #MatildatheMusical! The kids absolutely smashed it! I’m so lucky and incredibly proud to work with such keen, talented children and to be part of a school community that champions this! #ChildrenAreMaggots

We’re so, so chuffed to finally be able to share this with our school community! It’s been a long (long, long) road to get here but I’m feeling very proud to be part of Team @HotwellsPrimary right now!

With my change of role, I now teach KS2 PPA Art. It certainly isn’t the same as being in the classroom but I do have my own Art Room, work with a wide range of kids and try new stuff - like this reduction printing work we’ve done in Year 5. We’re pretty chuffed with the results!

Today I led a Year 4 Art session across our Trust. Taking inspiration from the botanist #AnnaAtkins and the beautifully illustrated ‘The Bluest of Blues’ by Fiona Robinson, I’m pretty chuffed with how well their artwork turned out. Not bad for their first attempt at printing, eh?
