Department for Energy Security and Net Zero has published two important consultations relating to fuel poverty today. 1. Refreshing the Fuel Poverty Strategy 2. Improving the energy performance of privately rented homes in England and Wales Lets see what they say!

Was great to speak with Camilla Born Electrify Britain this week at National Energy Action HQ in Newcastle about how to ensure the electrification of heat leads to warmer homes for fuel poor households.

Our Director of Homes, Colin Timmins is speaking at the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan event 'London’s Green Transition: Business at the Forefront of Inclusive Growth' today, presenting our Community Retrofit Hub project as a case study of effective community engagement to tackle fuel poverty.

Our Head of Policy Matt Copeland will join Age UK and Fair By Design in giving evidence to Energy Security and Net Zero Committee tomorrow. Matt will talk about the impact of high energy bills and how energy can be more affordable for households in fuel poverty.

'The price cap will come down but not to an affordable level for millions of people.' Our Head of Policy Matt Copeland tells Energy Security and Net Zero Committee that some prepayment customers still face bills over £300 during the coldest months and many are still paying back debt from previous winters.

Yesterday we heard from Matt Copeland from National Energy Action how energy debt is stopping people moving to cleaner, cheaper home heating options - and adding to everyone's energy bills👇 Chair Bill Esterson

Thank you Martin Lewis MoneySavingExpert for highlighting on your podcast our worries about prepayment meter customers and the way that standing charge debt can accrue on their meters. Currently, if this happens, the debt must be cleared before they can access any energy.

In The Guardian #JillianAmbrose features one of our clients. Lindsey* was struggling with the impact of high bills, rationing her energy and her home was often 9 degrees, until we were able to help. bit.ly/48ba2YS
