Today I’m going back to Spain for a few days for the first time in 2.5 years… and I’m stressed! I loved there, but my house now is here and I love being at home. 🏡

Behaviour Toolkit (v2) - a thread I find it useful to have a simplified overview of high utility behaviour management strategies on my desk. I choose one or two each week that I’m going to make a conscious effort to improve. (I explain each strategy in more detail below ⬇️)

Amusing memes to share with Yr11 in the run up to GCSEs (first shared by Paul Collins years ago - and I've added a few): docs.google.com/presentation/d… At my last school we put some of these up in the maths corridor during exam season. Lightened the mood and got everyone smiling.

This is our school’s ‘Quality Teaching and Learning Framework’ which I created to support coaches to give feedback to colleagues.

So tomorrow MathsBot.com turns 10 years old! There's PLENTY of work to do, but lots I'm really quite proud of. To celebrate, use the code 'decade' on the homepage to unlock ad-free mode for the weekend. Thanks to everyone over the years that have supported the site.

I can’t believe that tomorrow is the last lesson with my wonderful year 11s… 3 years with them. They are the first group that is going to make me cry. I’ll go to their prom to celebrate. I’ll miss them in September, but I’ll never forget most of them. My pleasure.

I am *still* hearing about school proudly announcing their plans to build flexible, open-plan learning spaces with no walls etc, and my advice to anyone thinking about doing this is do not do this.

If you’re not giving yourself some time for ‘you’ on a work day, please try and find it. Even if it’s brief. Whatever it is: reading, tv, scrolling socials, please make sure you find a moment. It’s all too easy to make this job all consuming.
