CT media did an awesome story about Mateo Garreffa! Every time I think about what he went through his sophomore year to get back on the mat and football field I become inspired! The adversity he overcame will no doubt help him be successful in sports but even more in life!

Love watching CT track in the spring! Mateo Garreffa did what I would never dream of…run the open 400 followed quickly by the 300 hurdles 15 minutes apart! 🤯 What’s most crazy is that he was excited to do it and ran PRs in both! - 400: 54.65 - 300 Hurdles: 45.7

Big day for Mateo Garreffa running the 300 hurdles! After falling on the last hurdle a week ago, he did exactly what I thought he would do! He trained all week to get better and didn’t let a little setback or scrapes slow him down! Placed 7th and set a new PR by over a second!

I know I brag about Mateo Garreffa a lot on X, but it’s truly because he is to humble to post about himself! He just completed his Varsity track season finishing 6th in the 300 hurdles in the Centennial League with a time of 41.9 (5 secs better than the start of the season! 💥💪🏼

This will be my last highschool post about Mateo Garreffa! The next updates about him will be in the purple and gold playing for the Fighting Saints Carroll College Football! As proud as I am about your athletic accomplishments, I am even more proud of the person and man you have become!
