Mike Pence rarely does interviews, and when he does, he’s extremely deliberate about which outlet he chooses. He chose to sit down with the AP. Worth noting.

At a news conference in Los Angeles, US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced that President Trump does not support a wasteful rail system in California. Duffy faced near-constant waves of boos and chants. sfgate.com/travel/article…

There’s a debate to be had about whether a good use of taxpayer $$ is funding private schoolers who were already there. (I’m against it). But that debate needs to begin with the data-driven fact that that’s what vouchers do—not with spin that vouchers are about new choices.

I talk to as many Trump supporters as I can these days. Which is how I know that his education agenda is raising all kinds of red flags. From vouchers to controversial picks to lead the Dept of Ed, Trump is charting an unpopular course, & losing some of his base as a result

Is there any state that provides local property tax dollars to charter schools that aren't authorized by the local school district? SB518 is a massive change for Indiana. Only state money was to "follow the child". Preston Green Derek W. Black Bruce D. Baker Chris Lubienski

The use of the Economy Act to fund DOGE would seem to subject it to the same open-records laws that cover most federal agencies. However, DOGE has refused to respond to public records requests, saying it operates with executive privileges. propublica.org/article/doge-t…

"Sen. Fady Qaddoura, D-Indianapolis, said..."If this body is truly about choice, then why (does) choice have to come at the expense of the choice of a million people going to traditional schools? Can choice only be accepted if it's at the expense of somebody else?"

There are some self-proclaimed Christians pushing voucher scams. Vouchers take money from public schools and give it to wealthy parents who already send their kids to private school. I can’t think of anything more un-Christian than stealing from the poor to give to the rich.

School choice is not about getting poor kids into private school because it is not enough $ nor do the privates want them. It is about a big payout to struggling church schools, paying vendors, politicians, and a windfall for parents that far exceeds any tax paid.
