The comparisons between New York and Florida -- similarly sized states with very diverse populations -- that David Ditch did here are astonishing:

If we had a functioning Congress it would immediately pass a law providing a §1983-style remedy for anyone whose rights are violated by someone acting under color of federal law.

You can miss me with that ā€œno oneā€˜s above the lawā€ canard. That’s certainly how it’s supposed to be, but our reality is vastly different. Practically speaking, government officials—and some even more so than others—are absolutely ā€œabove the law.ā€ As they know and act accordingly.

Someone asked me this week why the #SBC singled out sport betting for condemnation. The answer is because sports betting is an especial scourge on our society that mainstreams gambling among young men by linking it to a wholesome interest in sports. And it is especially

I’ve always considered myself a near absolutist on free speech. But it is ridiculous that I can’t go golfing with my son without people with whom we get paired in a foursome dropping F-bombs for hours in front of a minor. Pushes me toward support for profanity prosecutions.

41 years ago, this week, I was born without arms and not breathing. The delivery room doctor looked at my dad and asked ā€œDo you want to let him go?ā€ My dad chose me. He chose life. Now I’m a husband, a daddy and an evangelist thanks to a bold and loving dad. I love you dad.

Happy Birthday to the Magna Carta! "1. In the first place we have granted to God, and by this our present charter confirmed for us and our heirs forever that the English Church shall be free, and shall have her rights entire, and her liberties inviolate ...". Clause 1

Big Law firm Hogan Lovells fired a partner for supporting Dobbs overturning Roe v. Wade. Now, they're apologizing! Glad to see another example of Big Law stepping back from the brink of intolerance! 2025 seems to be a good year for accepting conservative views in Big Law

JJ Spaun said he started today going to CVS at 3 a.m. because his daughter was throwing up. Ended it winning the U.S. Open on Father’s Day. Maybe the most dad life Sunday of all time.

šŸ’Æ I’ll say it again: Progressivism is every bit as authoritarian as the New Right. Just with different dogmas they want to enforce.

In the latest issue of National Review, I survey the rise of sports betting, and discover that this vice has hooked a new generation, while also corrupting the sports that shortsightedly view it as a source of fans and attention:

It is a breathtakingly irresponsible statement, especially if he means it, but also if he doesn’t really mean it. The people who egg him on in his relentless juvenile trash talk don’t see (or don’t care) how destructive it is of sober thinking about the most serious matters

Some of these court orders are insane. The thing all of civilization was doing until the Biden Administration is now unconstitutional and enjoinable. Madness.
