Today the #UN Member States discuss 🇺🇳 Security Council reform. A difficult process that has been ongoing for a long time. Too long. We need to move to actual, text-based negotiations on reform. On better geographical representation. On the future of the veto. Especially now.

Banning Afghan women from working with the UN in Afghanistan is an intolerable violation of the most basic human rights. I call on the Taliban to immediately revoke this decision & reverse all measures restricting women’s & girls’ rights to work, education & freedom of movement.
