Why is it ok for news bulletins to warn F1 fans they're about to give out the result of a major race yet the same courtesy doesn't appear to apply to fans of major road cycling events like Giro d'Italia ? - Back from hols and was poised to catch up. Thanks for ruining, guys!
First it was BBC Radio 2 coming to Chelmsford and now, tonight, going to see my radio hero Danny Baker barn storm the Chelmsford Theatre - The birthplace of radio and two of its greatest offspring! Ahoy hoy, Candyman! Can’t wait! 😛
ents24.com/uk/tour-dates/… Great night on Thurs with Danny Baker - Just left the theatre ;) If your idea of fun is over three hours of showbiz anecdotes featuring the likes of Kenneth Williams, McCartney, Forsyth, Dodd & Barry Cryer, get yerselves a ticket!
Free-to-air tv sport is such an important thing to preserve. At the end of this year's Tour de France™ we lose it, free-to-air tv road cycling & with it the peerless team that make the ITV Cycling coverage. This can't be allowed to happen. BBC Sport - please pick this amazing team up!
Finishing today’s Tour de France™ coverage with Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin and Tammi is why we love the ITV Cycling coverage so much😊
Imlach's gems - Why we can't lose ITV Cycling vol.1
Save ITV Cycling Vol.3 - One of the key players in their coverage has always been Daniel Friebe - His exemplary VT's and pre/post interviews have consistently delivered intelligent creativity and humour. As with Gary Imlach's pieces, not a passive watch. You need to pay attention ...
I think most people know my views on this by now and thankfully for everyone's sake, I'm bored of wanging on about it! That said, it would be nice to think Phil Riley 📻 David Lloyd could have a peace meeting with BBC Radio 2 to agree a service they would find acceptable.
Hats-off to BBC Radio 2 for this last night. Hugely edifying, distinctive content. I stand behind no-one in my admiration for Gambo in that slot, but I can't listen to him anymore. One of the greatest and most encyclopedic music broadcasters playing GHR fodder is such a waste.
Chapeau to under-rated radio host martin kelner talking about being 'let go' talkSPORT on his Substack & contacting 📻 David Lloyd at BoomRadioUK to ask about a gig. Boom need to sign jocks with Gen X appeal like him to evolve the bottom end. Old R2 Sat Late Show slot pls DL!
This Sunday one of the unsung heroes of British radio presents his last show. Another victim of cuts that seem to be unnecessarily consigning more and more of the medium's unique, funny and creative talents to the job centre. So farewell and thank you martin kelner It's been fun
Mark Punter Thank you Mark, although I am doing Fighting Talk on 5 Live one Saturday in October & may do the odd stand-in on TalkSport. And I’m on Substack - but yes, last show as a regular presenter
