A fantastic seawatch at Hopes Nose 630-930am with Shiphay Birder surpassing expectations-14 Puffin,dark phase Pom Skua(815am), Bonxie(803am),Arctic Tern(755am),10 Manx,5 Whimbrel, 8Pale BB Geese, Curlew,Ringed Plover,22 Com Scoter, GND,2 RTD,Swallow & a Yellow Wag on the point





A Red Kite seen from 422pm-430pm over Torquay airspace and becomes the 20th Red Kite seen from the house in the last 6 years - an Excellant pick up and prompt call by Rob Murphy - the Kite circled for over 5 mins before heading off north - also 2 Swifts









Blyths Reed Warbler at a very wet Berry Head early this morning-another superb find by Mike Langman whilst sea watching ! ranging c100 yards at the the end of the quarry - others report the bird still present c230pm- only the 4th Devon mainland record-all in the last 9 years


The male Woodchat Shrike found this morning by Stephen E still c1130am at Greenland Lake, Dawlish Warren and showing well at times - the first twitchable Devon Woodchat for 5 years- also my 5th at Dawlish Warren and ridiculously my 27th in Devon over the years!
