Kilauea volcano is erupting, the USGS Volcanoes🌋 Hawaiian Volcano Observatory announced. The glow of fresh lava was detected at 4:34 p.m. HST inside Halemaʻumaʻu crater in Kīlauea’s summit caldera. The eruption is confined to the crater and does not pose a hazard to communities.
