We tend to think the presence of trials in our life indicates the absence of God. We wonder whether God's forgotten us. But God's faithfulness is not demonstrated by the absence of trials but in the presence of God in them. He truly is "a very present help in trouble!" (Ps 46)

Satan is the Accuser. His work is to turn your eyes in on yourself and despair. The Spirit is the Comforter. His work is to turn your eyes to Jesus, the rest for our souls.
