#Francine appears to experiencing some westerly shear. Notice the west side of the core is not expanding like the east side. In fact, trace those clouds west of the center and you can clearly see they are not expanding away, but moving toward the center. This may be more shear

We are starting to see we are definitely looking at a stronger hurricane tonight. #Francine is strengthening now with pressure sub 980 mb with 85 mph winds. Still a window to strengthen more before the shear picks up.

Francine now has 100 mph sustained winds per NHC. It will be interesting if we have any ground based observations that verify that. Not elevated oil rigs.
